We are delighted to host the first 2023 Ouse Muse, as our popular open mic poetry night returns for its first evening of the new year. As always, you will have the chance to read a couple of poems, or if you prefer to sit back and enjoy the ride, then please do come along and support local poets!

Our visiting writer for this month will be Bedford writer and Ouse Muse regular, Neil Beardmore.

Winner of The Richard Burton Poetry Award in the 90’s, Neil went on to achieve an MA in Creative Writing, specialising in Poetry and Novel Writing. Neil’s poems have been published in: Orbis, The Interpreter’s House, Cannon’s Mouth, Erbacce, Dream Catcher, MinK, The French Literary Review, Tales of the Foodbank and many other magazines. Neil regularly performs his poetry around the UK including Literary Festivals

The bookshop is open at 7:45, for an 8pm kick-off to the poetry!
