25.5cm x 19.5cm, xi prelims + pp225 including appendices, numerous plates - mainly photographs of the locality, maps, and reproductions of various art work, bound in purple cloth with gilt lettering to the front board and spine.

The author's tribute to the River Great Ouse. Its meander through five counties is covered, although the focus remains Bedfordshire (and Bedford specifically) where the author spent a most happy childhood. A fascinating book for those interested in local history.

 

Condition

Some wear to head and tail of spine and slight bumping to corners. Fading to spine and slight fading to front board. Foxing to front leaves, dedication and title page. A little foxing to top and fore edge, but text unaffected.
