Each volume contains engraved illustrations by artists such as Thomas Hearne, J. M. W. Turner, John Varley, and Benjamin West, whilst Charles Dickens presides amongst the series' most famous readers. This volume covers Bedfordshire, Bucks, Berks, and Oxfordshire. 

Neatly rebacked onto new leather preserving original backstrip, endpapers replaced with ownership plate affixed to front pastedown. Some damage to covers, corners bumped. Top edge dulled. Mild foxing and tanning throughout.
