This book is described by the author (who was a member of the Bedford Historical Record Society and the Society of Genealogists) not as a history of Toddington but as a chronicle of its people as well as 'interesting and stirring events'.
The contents of the book includes notes on the origin of the town, its manor house, church, chapels, and hosptial followed by registers, notes on markets, inns, and roads, and some other small miscellaneous details. Containing many reproductions of contemporary photographs, despite the author's protestations this book provides a varied and valuable history of the town.
