22.5cm x 15cm x 2.5cm; pp.320 plus six plates, bound in full calf with blind tooling on cover and both gilt and blind tooling on spine, marbled endpapers, binder's mark in front cover reads 'Fensome, Binder, Luton'.

This history of Woburn includes a brief general history of the town, notes on the abbey, a biography of the Russell family (including the contemporary Earl of Bedford) and the Gordon family, and then onto notes on the portraits and paintings of the area as well as its gardens and parks. A well-researched historical resource.

Condition

Externally clean and sharp with few defects. Internally suffers from varying degrees of foxing throughout as well as light water staining.
