On a trip to China in 2007, Tony Bevan made a drawing of a tree bereft of leaves, gnarled and twisted. Upon his return to London, he created many more such drawings - the original drawing had become a starting point for a new body of work. Focussing on the tree format, the resulting series comprises fifteen paintings and many other large-scale drawings.
