ENZO CUCCHI: ROMA

Born in 1949 near Ancona, Italy, Enzo Cucchi is the author of a work, produced in solitude, in which drawing predominates and which is characterised by dream visions and an astonishing capacity to create narrative or, more exactly, fable. In this book, enriched by drawings by the artist which frame each of its pages, Cucchi reviews some of the great historical symbols of the Eternal City--statues, monuments, constructions--and modifies them in such a way as gently to express the feelings they inspire in him and the associations they awaken in his imagination.
